The University of Lowell was created in 1975; the campus became part of the University of Massachusetts system in 1991 and is located in Lowell, Massachusetts. It has a total student head count of 11,635. UMass Lowell operates out of three campus clusters – North, South and East – located northwest of Boston. The university comprises of undergraduate and graduate schools and colleges: Arts and Sciences, Education, Engineering, Health and Environment, and Management. The graduate programs offered are Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology and Marine Sciences and Technology.
